20th December: Flights, arrival and introduction
Upon arrival you will be transferred directly to your accommodation at Hotel Kittila where there will be a welcome dinner. Here you will be able to get to know your fellow travellers before getting a good night’s sleep ahead of your festive adventure.
21st December: Snowshoes and cross country skiing
This morning there will be an introductory meeting with your guide who will outline the upcoming activities and provide you with your cold weather clothing.
You will then strap on your snowshoes and head out in the wilderness to explore the beauty of the local area. Snowshoes allow you to travel further in deep snow and you will be sure to build up quite an appetite. So, after your exploration, you’ll head back to the hotel for a delicious lunch and prepare yourself for this afternoon’s cross country ski lesson.
After some instruction from your guide you will be setting off on the trails, through the forest, for a two to three hour trip. Cross country skiing can be very addictive and is a fantastic way to navigate across the snow-covered landscape. Should you wish to explore independently later in your stay then cross country skis are available to hire throughout your stay.
22nd December: Snowmobiles and ice fishing
After a delicious breakfast, the excitement begins as you head out on a snowmobile safari. After a safety briefing, you will set off (two per snowmobile) across snow covered fells and through the forests on a thrilling 30km safari. As you take it in turns to drive you will each get to experience driving the snowmobile (as long as you both have driving licences).
During your snowmobile adventure you will be taken to a nearby frozen lake so you can also try your hand at ice fishing – a traditional and much enjoyed activity in this corner of the world. The guides will show how to drill through the ice, before you lower your rod and wait for the fish to bite.
Lunch will then be served in the wilderness (hopefully you can make use of any of the fish you caught!).
23rd December: Torassieppi Reindeer Farm and Winter Village, husky safari
This morning will be spent at Torassieppi Reindeer Farm which is one of the oldest farms in Lapland. Reindeer and the Sami culture are inherently bound together and are integral to this region. Today you will be able to chat with the herders, learn more about their livelihood and the importance of reindeer as a source of food, transport and income.
You will get the opportunity to try out your lasso skills before enjoying a 3km reindeer-pulled sleigh ride safari through the forest (1-2 people per sled).
After your time with the reindeer you will be visiting the Torassieppi Winter Village which is created each season. Here you will get the opportunity to tour the snow rooms with their fantastic ice sculptures and enjoy lunch in the ice restaurant.
In the afternoon the adventures continue as you will try out dog sledding! After a short walk to the nearby husky farm will be introduced to the dogs and will learn more about how to handle the sled before you head out on a 9km safari. You will have your own team (two people per sled) of four or five huskies who will enthusiastically lead you across the expansive snow-scape.
24th December: Day in Levi

You are free the spend the day here as you wish, you could try downhill skiing, visit a local spa or look around the local shops before heading to one of the restaurants to meet the rest of your group for lunch. You will later be transferred back to your hotel.
